Combustion Solutions was formed in April 2004 with the mission to provide safe and reliable burner management and combustion control systems to the oil and gas and petroleum processing industry, including refineries, offshore installations and gas plants.
CSI specializes in Safety Integrated Systems (SIS), Burner Management Systems (BMS) and combustion control systems. We are intimately familiar with combustion equipment used in refineries as we often specify, install and maintain this equipment. We have developed many solutions for common refinery combustion related problems.
We are members of the CSA B149.3 code committee and are experts in interpretation of the code and obtaining government certification for difficult installations.
We are recognized experts in SIS design and specifications and the applications of ISA S84/ IEC 61511 standard and its implementation for BMS applications. We have led and participated in numerous Risk Assessment and SIL Assignment studies for fired equipment.
We are experts in the design and fabrication of fuel skids and burner piping for refinery type fired equipment. Our software design tools, procedures and model reviews ensure we can provide a product that is optimized for operations and maintenance personnel. We are well established with vendors of all major combustion, instrumentation, electrical and control system components and use best design and layout practices in their application.
We utilize PLCs from the major SIS vendors and are well versed in their unique benefits and idiosyncrasies. CSI is familiar with Honeywell Safety Manager, Invensys Triconex, Tricon and Trident, Yokogawa Prosafe RS, Allen Bradley ControlLogix, MicroLogix, Delta V and Siemens S7-200,300. We have completed several Fieldbus projects and integrated our systems with Honeywell, Invensys and Bailey DCS platforms.
CSI's design process is very thorough with documentation; verification and validation package that more than exceeds most client requirements. We have developed our documentation packages explicitly for refinery and offshore process customers.
